DO I NEED SPECIAL EV TYRES?
You can fit standard tyres to most electric and hybrid cars, but a tyre designed for EVs will usually last longer, run quieter and give you more range. Because an EV is heavier and delivers its torque instantly, ordinary tyres can wear out noticeably faster — so it often works out cheaper to fit the right tyre from the start. Many electric cars also leave the factory on EV-specific tyres, and matching that specification keeps the car performing the way it was designed to.
